Which AmanoDVMS ports need to be open on my firewall?

Which AmanoDVMS ports need to be open on my firewall?

It is highly recommended that you isolate the camera and viewing networks by way of physical separation, or a VLAN network. You must open the following ports on your network for the system to function properly.

System Ports

In all AmanoDVMS installations, the following TCP ports must be open on all servers for the applications and servers to function correctly:

Port 5008

For signaling between SMServer and client applications, and inbound communications from clients to the SMServer

Port rule: open inbound

Port 5009

For remote connecting between DVRServer and client applications, and signaling between SMServer and DVRServer for time synchronization, setting changes, event information, etc.

Port rule: open inbound

Port 5010

For Watchdog monitoring communication between WDServer, client applications and DVRServer

Port rule: open inbound

Port 5011

For streaming between the Streaming Service and client applications

Port rule: open inbound

WebClient, Spotter Mobile and GatewayServer specific ports:

Ports 9000 and 9999

Between WebClient / Spotter Mobile and GatewayServer.

Port rule: open inbound

Agile Virtual Matrix specific ports:

Port 8084

Between SMServer and the Spotter for Windows client

Port rule: open inbound

Cameras can use the following ports in their operation:

HTTP Port 80

Default port for HTTP traffic, used by some cameras for communications

HTTP Port 8080

Used by some cameras for PTZ control communications

HTTPS Port 443

Default port for HTTPS traffic, used to securely communicate with a camera’s system

RTSP Port 554

Default port used on the VMS to traffic stream control signals

RTSP port 7070

Default stream control port for some camera drivers

UDP Ports 3556-4556

Used on the VMS to receive feeds from the cameras. Each video stream occupies two sequential ports in the port range.

AmanoVision web access user name case sensitivity usage

AmanoVision web access user name case sensitivity usage

The AmanoVision 2020 web access portal has a specific requirement with regards to security that could force you to make a change to your current user accounts in place.

While user names and passwords allow for both upper and lower case usage when logging in to the main application, the web portal currently REQUIRES that all user names contain ALL LOWER CASE letters.

If you have current usernames that require web portal login and do not meet the all lowercase criteria, you must delete and recreate the user with all lower case letters or add an additional user account that meets the criteria.

As of the Sept. 2020, the versions affected are AmanoVision 2020 (5044d2_RC40) and previous.

Setting Read Range on a Conekt Reader

Setting Read Range on a Conekt Reader

This document explains how to set the read range on a Conekt Reader.

Applies to: CSR-35

Toggle between CSR-35P (presentation) and CSR-35L (long range) reader modes

1. Cycle power on the reader

Note:

  • There is a 10-minute window for configuration.
  • After 10-minutes the reader won’t accept configuration cards.
  • Cycle power again for an additional 10-minute window.

2. Present BLE_Mode control card

Note:

  • 1-beep indicates reader was set as a CSR-35P reader (presentation mode)
  • 2-beeps indicate reader was set as a CSR-35L reader (long range mode)
  • Readers can be toggled back and forth between the two configurations

Read range settings for CSR-35L (long range mode) reader

1. Configure reader to the CSR-35L long range mode

Note:

  • Not applicable when reader is in the CSR-35P (presentation) configuration

2. Present the BLE_Range_Setting control card as many times as necessary to select the read range option desired; setting indicated by the number of beeps outputted by the reader.

Read Range Options:

  • Short: 1-beep = up to 12-inches
  • Medium: 2-beeps = up to 7-feet
  • Long: 3-beeps = up to 15-feet
  • Max: 4-beeps = up to 50-feet

Please note that all mobile devices are designed differently, and read ranges may vary due to component differences, BLE signal strength, phone cases, amongst other factors. Please contact Farpointe’s Customer Support team if you have any questions.
