How to Install OMNIA 4.6.5 with SQL Server 2019 Express

This guide explains the step-by-step installation process for OMNIA 4.6.5 using SQL Server 2019 Express and SQL Server Management Studio.

Before starting, ensure you are logged into the PC or server with Local Administrator privileges. The installer should complete successfully when run with the proper permissions and administrator access.

Downloading the Installation Files

Download the OMNIA ISO file from the PMT Security Download Center:

  1. Download the OMNIA.iso file.
  2. Mount the OMNIA.iso
  3. Right-click the OMNIA installer.
  4. Select Run as Administrator.
  5. If Windows displays a security warning preventing the installer from running: Select Run Anyway.



Starting the Installation

  1. Select the preferred installation language and click OK.
  2. Click Next.
  3. Accept the license agreement.
  4. Select Next






  5. OMNIA Installation location, Select Next


  6. Select the Components to Install
  7. Select Next


  8. Information Dialogue Box Appears
  9. Select Yes
  10. Select Next


  11. Edit Settings Page, only edit settings if needed. Select Edit Setting Box to make Changes. OMNIA will search the localhost automatically for a SQL instance name with a database named OMNIA
  12. Select Next


  13. Error Window will appear, this error is normal
  14. Select Yes
  15. Select Next

  16. Information/Question Window will appear
  17. Select yes
  18. Select Next

  19. Select if Desktop Shortcut is needed
  20. Select Next


  21. Select Install


  22. Installation Process Continues, Select Finish When Completed


  23. After the OMNIA installation completes, The OMNIA Plugin Manager Installation will begin if selected at beginning of installation.
  24. Select Next

  25. Select the Components to install
  26. Select Next

  27. If SQL is not running local, change LOCALHOST to IP address of SQL.
  28. Change SQL Database Name to OMNIA
  29. Select Next

  30. Accept the Plugin Manager License Agreement
  31. Select Next

  32. Select Install

  33. Plugin Installation Continues

  34. Plugin Manager Installation Completed
  35. Select Next

  36. SQL Server Management Studio will need to be downloaded and Installed from Microsoft. This is needed for Database tasks such as Backups.
  37. Select the Windows Start Icon, SQL 2019 will be a  new installation 
  38. Select the newly installed folders drop down arrow
  39. Select the SQL Server 2019 Installation Center
  40. A separate SQL Installation Center window will open
  41. Select Installation
  42. Select Install SQL Server Management Tools, this will open a download link in a web browser.

  43. Select the Management Studio Install download link.

  44. Right Click the SSMS Installer
  45. Select Run as Administrator

  46. Management Studio Installer Window Appears
  47. Select Install


  48. Select Restart

  49. Installation is complete, After the reboot, launch OMNIA from the Desktop Shortcut.
