Setting IP on PMTronics Inc. Access Control Hardware

Setting IP on PMTronics Inc. Access Control Hardware

Summary on how to set the IP on Amano Access Control Hardware

  1. Ensure your PC Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection IP address is set within range (192.168.100.xx) of the default IP address (192.168.100.1).
  2. Factory reset the unit (on the center set of dip switches turn switch 1 to on, power cycle, after the unit turn on wait 60 seconds, turn switch 1 to off…this will set the IP address to 192.168.100.1)
  3. Plug directly into the unit from your PC and CMD ping the unit at factory default IP address. Ensure you’re getting a reply from the unit’s IP
  4. Use the discovery utility to connect to the unit. Double click on the unit to bring up the Configuration dialog box. (Password is masterkey, except on 400i which is impro)
  5. Without changing any if the IP information set IP address, subnet, and gateway to static by checking the three boxes on the right. Again…DO NOT change any of the IP information.
  6. Select update
  7. Use the discovery utility to discover the unit…this time there should be a green check mark in the Static column. (If not start over from Step 1)
  8. Double click on the unit to bring up the Configuration dialog box. The 3 static boxes should still be checked
  9. Change IP address, subnet, and gateway
  10. Check the “Force Update” check box
  11. Select update

If you followed the procedure the IP address will change and you will no longer be able to CMD ping the address (192.168.100.1) or see it in the Discovery Utility until you change the IP address on your PC to be in the range that you changed the device to.
